The University has achieved 90% placement of its students in reputed organisations within 3 months of their graduation. Eligibility:
a) B.E/B.Tech (4 year) Programme
A Pass in
a) The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central / State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi,
or
b) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised Board /University,
or
-
Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy,
or
-
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India recognised as equivalent to 10+2 system,
or
e) H.S.C. Vocational Examination,
or
f) A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects,
or
g) 3 or 4 year diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education,
or
h) Any other equivalent qualification.
b) B.E/B.Tech (3 year) Programme
A pass in Diploma in the respective engineering or technology discipline/B.Sc. With mathematics as one of the subjects with minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate.

B.Arch (5 year) Programmes
1.a) 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks.
or
b) International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
Or

No candidate, with less than 50% marks in aggregate, shall be admitted to the architecture course unless he /she has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 Scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics as subjects of examination at the 10+2 level.
2. All Admissions to Architecture degree course shall be subject to passing of National Aptitude
Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture.
Note: In order to pass the Architectural Aptitude Test, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 40% marks.
Age: For UG admissions, the candidates should have completed 17 years of age as
on July 2008.

3 M.E – Construction Engineering and Management (2 year)
B.E/B.Tech Civil or B.Arch or equivalent
4. M.E - Environmental Engineering (2 year)
B.E/B.Tech (Civil/Chemical/Geo-Informatics/ Bio-Tech) or B.E/B.Tech (Mech/EEE / B.Arch with 3 years of experience relevant to Environmental Engineering field) or B. Arch or equivalent
5. M.E – Power Electronics and Drives (2 year)
B.E / B.Tech (EEE / ECE / E&I / I & C / Electronics / Instrumentation) or equivalent
6. M.Tech – Renewable Energy (2 year) B.E / B.Tech (Mech/Chemical / Bio-Tech /
Electro Chemical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering or equivalent

APPLICATION FOR ENTRANCE TEST
Applications can be had from the university campus at Vallam, Thanjavur or its Information Centres at New Delhi , Chennai , Trichy and Thanjavur (the addresses given at the end) or downloaded from the University Website or obtained from any Core Banking Service (CBS) branch of Indian Overseas Bank by paying an Application-cum-Examination fee of Rs.750/-. The filled-in application must be sent to the Admissions Co-ordinator accompanied by two passport sized attested photographs, a copy of the IOB Bank Challan or a crossed Indian Postal Order for Rs.750/- payable to the Registrar, PMU at Vallam Thanjavur and a self-addressed envelope.

In addition to the Centre at the Campus of PMU, test will be conducted in the following centres:
South: Chennai, Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Hosur, Kancheepuram, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Nagerkoil, Namakkal, Neyveli, Paramakudi, Pondicherry, Perambalur, Salem, Sivagangai, Sivakasi, Theni, Tiruchirapalli, Tirunelveli, Tirupathur, Virudhachalam, Villupuram. Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Nellore, Vishakhapatnam, Cochin, Bangalore, Kottayam, Thiruvanandhapuram.
North: Jamshedpur, Dehradun, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Lucknow, Gurgaon.
East: Agartala, Kolkata, Bhuvaneshwar. Bhagalpur, Patna.
West: Mumbai, Bhopal, Nagpur, Jaipur, Ahmedabad.
(Note: More centres may be added and some may be dropped depending on the response).
The details of the actual centre for the test will be mentioned in the Hall Ticket, which will be sent to the individual candidate by post. Those who do not receive the Hall Tickets 7 days ahead of the test, can contact the Admissions Co-ordinator.

All candidates for admissions to the above programmes must write PMU Entrance Test, execpt B.Arch.
Gender Equity:As per the policy of PMU, seats will be allotted on 50:50 basis for women and men candidates. However, if there are any vacancies in one category, the same will be filled from the other category.
Reservation in admissions for various categories will be made as per Government Policy.
The candidates for admission to MBA should, in addition to PMUET, appear for Group Discussion and Interview at Periyar Maniammai University
