1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examinations for admission to the following Degree Courses in various Professional Colleges in the State for 2008-09.

Note:-  Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions as laid down in the Prospectus and who seek admission to all the above mentioned courses in Government seats have to apply in the prescribed application form issued by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE).


There is separate Entrance Examinations for admission to Engineering and Medical Courses conducted by the CEE and the allotment will be based on the rank in these Entrance Examinations. The CEE will not conduct any Entrance Examination for admission to B.Arch. course. However, candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. course should compulsorily appear and qualify the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA).

2. Eligibility for Admission:


(A) Nativity: (i) Applicant should be an Indian citizen. PIO/OCI Card Holders who have studied/are studying in Kerala from Class VIII to XII will be treated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission.

(ii) Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Applicants of Kerala origin will be categorized as ‘Keralites’. Others will be categorized as ‘Non-Keralites’.

(iii) A candidate will be considered as a ’Keralite’, for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission, if (i) he/she or his/her father/mother was born in Kerala OR (ii) he/she has been a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years within a period of 12 years OR (iii) he/she has undergone his/her school studies from Standards VIII to XII in educational institution(s) in Kerala. The candidate should submit relevant certificate along with the application form as prescribed in the Prospectus to avail such benefit.

(iv) Non-Keralites are classified as ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ and ‘Non-Keralite Category-II’.

(v) ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ candidates are those who have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who are the sons/daughters of Employees of the Government of India, or, employees who are serving in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala, subject to the condition that, all categories of the employees mentioned above should have served in Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years, or, have served in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years. Such candidates will be eligible for admission to the Government seats under ‘State Merit’ only, for all the courses, which are filled on the basis of the rank in the Entrance Examination(s) or the rank list prepared by giving equal weightage to the marks in NATA and qualifying examination, as applicable. Candidates who do not belong to the ‘Keralite’ or ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ will be treated as ‘Non-Keralite Category-II’. They are eligible for admission ONLY to the ‘State Merit’ seats in the Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges in the State and in the Management Quota seats in Self-financing Engineering institutions sponsored by Government. Non-Keralite candidates will not be considered for admission against reserved seats.


Note:- Allotments to Self-financing Colleges from the State Rank lists for all courses will be subject to the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in WP(C)s on the issues relating to Self-financing colleges pending before it and orders of Central and State Governments.


(B) Academic Qualification:


(i) Medical/Agriculture/Veterinary/B.Sc.–Nursing (Ayurveda) and B.Pharm. (Ayurveda) Courses: Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. Those who wish to take admission to MBBS/BDS courses should acquire 50% marks in the Medical Entrance Examination (As per the guidelines issued by Medical Council of India).


Candidates seeking admission to B.V.Sc. & AH course under the Kerala Agricultural University, in addition to the qualification prescribed under (a) above, should have passed the qualifying examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English put together (as per the regulation of Veterinary Council of India).


(ii) B.Pharm. Course: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology/Computer Science separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology /Mathematics / Bio-technology / Computer Science put together are eligible. Such candidates will not be eligible for admission to B.Pharm. (Ayurveda) course.


Candidates who have passed D.Pharm. course with 50% mark in the final Diploma Examination in Pharmacy are also eligible for admission to B.Pharm. course, subject to the condition that they should have passed Higher Secondary / Pre-Degree or equivalent examination, with Physics,Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics as optional. Such candidates will be eligible only for B.Pharm. course and will not be admitted to other Medical / Agriculture/ Veterinary Courses.


(iii) B.P.T. Course: Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary examination or examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. In addition, the candidates should have studied English as a subject at 12th standard / Plus Two level.


(iv) Eligibility of B.Sc. Degree holders: Those who apply based on their B.Sc. Degree, for Admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, B.H.M.S, BSMS, B.Sc. (Nursing) and B.Sc. (MLT) Courses, should have obtained their B.Sc. Degree with one of the subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Bio-Chemistry as Main, and any one or two of these subjects as subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main and Subsidiaries taken together, provided they have passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.


(v) Engineering Courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry / Bio-technology / Computer Science / Biology put together are eligible for admission. Candidates having Three year Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, Kerala or equivalent, having 50% marks in the final Diploma examination, are also eligible for admission. However, these Diploma holders are not eligible for admission to the Engineering courses offered by Kerala Agricultural University.


(vi) Architecture Course:  Candidates who have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Mathematics as a subject of examination, with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible. Candidates who have passed Three year Diploma in Engineering or equivalent examination with 50% marks in final Diploma examination are also eligible to apply. In addition the candidates should qualify the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) with 40% marks. Reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC) candidates should have obtained a minimum of 35% marks in NATA, as per guidelines of Council of Architecture. (For details, visit www.nata.in).


(C) Relaxation in marks in the Qualifying Examination:

For all courses, a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination will be allowed to those candidates who belong to the communities listed under the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and whose annual family income is up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs (Rupees Two Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only). SC/ST candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination. But candidates belonging to SEBC categories, seeking admission to MBBS/BDS courses, need 45% marks in Biology and 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, in the qualifying examination and 40% marks in Medical Entrance Examination. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together in the qualifying examination and 40% marks in the Entrance Examination for seeking admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.


(D) Candidates who have appeared/are appearing for Qualifying Examinations:

Candidates who have not passed the qualifying examination but have appeared/are appearing for the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination or the three-year Engineering Diploma Examination of this academic year, will also be permitted to take the Entrance Examination(s) provisionally. But, such candidates should prove their academic eligibility on the date of admission. Candidates applying based on B.Sc. Degree, referred to under paragraph 2 B (iv) above, should have passed the Degree Examination at the time of submission of application.

(E) Age:  The candidate should complete 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2008.


3. Schedule for the Entrance Examinations:


The Entrance Examinations will be held at all the District Centres in Kerala, New Delhi and Dubai (UAE), on the dates mentioned below as per Indian Standard Time (IST).
Engineering Entrance Examination (For Engineering courses except Architecture) :

21.04.2008 Monday 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. Paper-I : Physics & Chemistry.
22.04.2008 Tuesday 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. Paper-II: Mathematics.


Medical Entrance Examination [For Medical (including B.Pharm.), Agriculture and Veterinary Courses]:


23.04.2008 Wednesday 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. Paper-I : Chemistry & Physics.
24.04.2008 Thursday 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. Paper-II: Biology.


Note (i): Appearance in the two papers of the concerned Entrance Examination is compulsory for being considered for inclusion in the Engineering/Medical rank lists. Candidates seeking admission to B.Pharm. (Ayurveda) Course also should write both the Papers of the Medical Entrance Examination.

(ii): Admission to the B.Pharm. course will be based on a separate rank list prepared on the basis of the performance of candidates in the ‘Chemistry & Physics’ Paper (Paper I) of the Medical Entrance Examination. Hence, those who wish to be considered for admission to the B.Pharm. Course should compulsorily appear for the ‘Chemistry & Physics’ Paper of the Medical Entrance Examination.

(iii): Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. course should also submit the Application form to the CEE. There is no State level Entrance Examination for this purpose. However such candidates should write the National Aptitude Test for Architecture and should forward the NATA score and mark list of the qualifying examination to the CEE on or before 12.06.2008.

4. Application Forms:


(a) ONLY ONE APPLICATION NEED BE SUBMITTED FOR THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS FOR ADMISSION TO ONE OR MORE OF MEDICAL, AGRICULTURE, VETERINARY, B.PHARM, ENGINEERING AND (ARCHITECTURE) COURSES.


(b) SC/ST candidates should apply in light Yellow application forms and all other candidates should apply in the General application form (Light Blue). Candidates under ‘Other Eligible Communities’ (OEC) should apply in the General application form. Candidates who are children of Intercaste Married Couple, of which one is SC/ST, should apply in the form meant for SC/ST.


(c) Fee of Application: General candidates - Rs. 700/- ; SC/ST candidates - Rs. 350/-.


(d) Application Distribution Centres: The Application form and Prospectus will be distributed from 1 pm on 28.01.2008 to 29.02.2008 through selected branches of Canara Bank and State Bank of Travancore in Kerala and outside the State. The amount towards the fee of application is to be remitted in cash at the distribution centre. The list of Canara Bank and State Band of Travancore branches, selected as sales centres, refer www.cee-kerala.org. Application Forms will not be available by post or sold from the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.


(e) Application form: All candidates will receive the application form, OMR Data Sheet, an envelope bearing the address of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and the Prospectus. Candidates should ensure that the Application number printed in the Application Form, OMR Data Sheet and on the cover are the same.


(f) Facility to Download the Application Form: Candidates not claiming any reservation/ belonging to the Non-Keralite Category–II can apply in the prescribed format by downloading the application from the website cee-kerala.org. Such candidates should send the filled-in application along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 700/- (Rupees Seven Hundred only), drawn on any Nationalized Bank, in favour of the ‘Commissioner for Entrance Examinations’, payable at Thiruvananthapuram, so as to reach this office before the last date and time for receipt of applications.


(g) Candidates opting DUBAI (UAE) as the Centre for Entrance Examination: Candidates, who choose ‘DUBAI’ as their centre for the Entrance Examination, should submit along with their filled in application form, a Demand Draft for Rs. 7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand only), drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of the ‘Commissioner for Entrance Examinations’, and payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Those applying in downloaded forms should enclose a Demand Draft for a total amount of Rs. 7,700/- (Rupees Seven Thousand Seven Hundred only). The candidates opting Dubai centre should note that the examinations are conducted as per Indian Standard Time (IST).


5. Last date and time for receipt of filled in Application Forms:


The filled in Application Form along with the OMR DATA SHEET and other relevant documents, to be submitted with the Application Form, is to be sent in the printed envelope bearing the address of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations supplied along with the application form, so as to reach him before 5 p.m. on 29.02.2008 (Friday), by Hand Delivery/ Registered Post / Speed Post. Completed Applications will be received in the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations on holidays also.


6. Belated Applications:

Belated applications will be rejected. Candidates are therefore advised to apply well in advance. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay.


7. Candidates will not be allowed to include any information in the application form or to submit any Certificates/Documents claiming reservation or any other benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances. Requests in this regard will not be entertained by the
Office of the Commissioner.


8. Certificates that are to be obtained in the body of the Application should be obtained in the body of the Application form itself.


9. Incomplete or defective applications will be summarily REJECTED and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.


10. The Entrance Examinations and the subsequent allotments will be based on the various provisions laid down in the Prospectus approved by the Government. An extract of the Prospectus will also be available in the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations at “ www.cee-kerala.org ”. Candidates are requested to go through the various provisions in the Prospectus before submitting their applications.

A candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign Medical degree recognized by MCI) is undergoing 12 month compulsory internship / practical training and is likely to complete the same by 31.01.2008 can take the examination but he/ she shall not be eligible for admission unless he / she has completed the compulsory rotating internship and obtained full registration on or before 31.01.2008 or the candidate produces a certificate from the head of institution that he / she will be completing internship by 31.01.2008.
8. No condonation of compulsory rotating internship shall be accepted unless approved by the medical council of India along with necessary proof of the approval of the Medical Council of India. The condonation of compulsory rotating internship shall be restricted to the period up to 31.01.2008 and not beyond that date.
9. The cut off dates for the recognition of the medical colleges for the year 2008 will be 31.10.2007. The colleges recognized after this date will not be considered.
10. Registration with the MCI / State Medical council is necessary and its documentary proof shall be furnished at the time of counselling.
11. Service obligation: An applicant, who is expected to complete the service obligation in lieu of Sponsorship (for MBBS/PG-Diploma) by 31.01.2008, may apply. A letter to this effect must be provided along with the application, from the Principal of the concerned Medical College or authorized representative of the sponsoring Body/ Church or any other appropriate authority. Applicant should have completed minimum 2 years of service obligation by 31.01.2008, allowing for adjustment of un-availed leave, if any.

M.Phil and Ph.D in Education from NUEPA

National University Of Educational Planning And Administration (NUEPA) invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to its

Full-time Integrated M.Phil.- Ph.D. and

Full-time Direct Ph.D. (25 seats); and

Part-time Ph.D. programmes (5seats)

for the year 2008-09. While selecting the candidates for admission, NUEPA will follow all mandatory provisions in the reservation policy of the Government of India. Admissions to Full-time Integrated M.Phil.- Ph.D., Full-time Direct Ph.D. and Part-time Ph.D. programmes will be made purely on the basis of merit following the prescribed criteria of the University.

Fellowships
Each selected candidate for the Full-time Integrated M.Phil.- Ph.D. and Full-time Direct Ph.D. shall be offered a fellowship of
Rs. 13000/- p.m. + contingency as per rules. The NET qualified candidates, who have been awarded Junior Research Fellowships by the UGC-CSIR and who fulfill the required qualifications, are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Criteria

Full-time Programmes
(a) A candidate seeking admission to the Full-time Integrated M.Phil.-Ph.D. programme shall have a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST candidates) or its equivalent grade in Master’s Degree in education, social sciences and allied disciplines from a recognized university. (b) A candidate seeking admission to Full-time Direct Ph.D. programme shall have an M.Phil. degree in an area closely related to educational planning and administration and/or exceptionally brilliant academic record coupled with publications of high quality.

Part-time Programme
A candidate seeking admission to Part-time Ph.D. programme is required to meet the following criteria:

(i) Should possess the educational qualifications as mentioned in Para (a) above;
(ii) Currently, should be in full-time employment;
(iii) Should be a senior level educational functionary with a minimum of five years work experience in teaching, educational planning
and administration.

Mode of Selection
The University reserves the right to decide the number of seats to be filled in the year 2008-09; the criteria for screening of
applications; and the selection procedure of candidates for admission to its Full-time Integrated M.Phil.-Ph.D. and Ph.D.
programmes. The mode of selection of candidates will be as under:

(i) Initial short-listing of applications will be carried out on the basis of relevance and quality of the brief write-up (in the prescribed
format) in the proposed area of research to be submitted along with the application form;

(ii) Short-listed candidates will be subjected to second level of screening through which the University will assess their motivation and potential.

How to Apply
Candidates may apply in the prescribed form for admission to Full-time Integrated M.Phil.-Ph.D. and Ph.D. programmes of the
University along with three copies of the brief write-up (in the prescribed format) on the proposed research topic of a contemporary issue within the broad framework of educational policy, planning and administration. ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Postgraduate teaching and research in Ayurveda was initiated with the inception of Postgraduate Institute of Indian Medicine in the year 1963 at Banaras Hindu University, the largest residential University in Asia and spread over an area of 16.5 sq. kms.

The Institute of Medical Sciences is the first of its kind in the country, comprising of Faculty of Ayurveda and Faculty of Medicine under one umbrella, a real synthesis of ancient wisdom and modern scientific temper in the field of medical sciences. The synthesis of postgraduate Institute of Indian Medicine and College of Medical Sciences in the year 1970 emerged into the present shape of Institute. The Institute has facility for undergraduate, postgraduate and superspeciality courses under Faculty of Medicine and Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree / diploma courses under Faculty of Ayurveda. In addition, numbers of scholars enrolled for Ph.D. degree in all the departments through Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET). From the session 2006-07 the faculty started B. Pharm (Ay) at Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, BHU, situated at Barkachha in Mirzapur district. Residential accommodation for all the students is available in close proximity of the Institute and Hospital premises. The faculty of Ayurveda also runs two year PG diploma courses in: Panchakarma Therapy, Ayurvedic Drug Standardization, Maternal Health Care, Neonatal and Child care, Kshar Karma, Vikiran and Chhaya as well as one year certificate course in Prasava Vigyan. The Institute has a well equipped library containing nearly 1, 00,000 volumes of reading materials i.e. in the form of books, journals, technical reports, manuscripts etc. and subscribes more than 200 national and international journals. It also has photo copying & internet facility and computer based MEDLARS data base on CD-ROM from 1996. There is a separate wing of Ayurvedic hospital with 125 indoor beds and outdoor facilities for Postgraduate

teaching and research activities apart from another wing of teaching hospital with nearly 900 beds strength with all kind of sophisticated and diagnostic equipments. 2. ELIGIBILITY :
2.1 The candidate holding BAMS or equivalent degree recognized by BHU and CCIM.

2.2 The candidate holding MBBS degree recognized by MCI.

2.3 The candidate should have passed I.Sc. (Biology) or equivalent examination recognized by BHU.

2.4 All the candidates (except MBBS) must have qualified with Sanskrit as one of the subject in Intermediate or equivalent examination or as a part of BAMS examination recognized by Banaras Hindu University.

2.5 The candidate must have completed minimum 12 months Internship ( 4 ½ years BAMS Course) / 6 months Internship (5 years BAMS Course) by 31.7.2008 after passing the final professional examination.

2.6 The maximum age limit for the admission will be 35 years on 31.7.2008 except sponsored candidates (relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates).

2.7 In case of the foreign nationals the degree must have approval of the CCIM or MCI as equivalent to the corresponding examination of admission.

2.8 Temporary registration as medical practitioner of foreign nationals is essential. CCIM or MCI should approve their registration valid for study period.

3. AVAILABILITY OF APPLICATION FORMS :

3.1 It can be down loaded from BHU Web site (www.bhu.ac.in) .

3.2 It can also be obtained from the office of the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi on submission of a DD of Rs 100/- in favour of the Direct r, Institute of Medical Sciences, payable at Varanasi along with two self addressed slips (06 X 10cm) by Post on or before 17th March, 2008.

3.3 It can also be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 100/- from counter of the Main Post Office on the BHU Campus near Kendriya Vidyalaya, BHU between 20th January, 2008 and 31st March, 2008.
4. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS :

4.1 Candidate must fill all the four pages of the application form in his/her own handwriting and all the entries in the form should be filled by the same writing material.

4.2 The completed application form in all respects including photographs & attested thumb impression should reach the office of the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi – 221005 on or before 04.04.2008 (5.00 PM). The envelope containing the application should be superscribed “APPLICATION FOR

Ayurveda Vachaspati [MD (Ay)]/Ayurveda Dhanwantari [MS (Ay)] COURSE - 2008”. Advance photocopy, Fax or Email copies of the application will not be accepted.
4.3 Duly completed application must be accompanied with a DD drawn on a nationalized bank and payable at Varanasi in favour of DIRECTOR, IMS, BHU of Rs 1, 000/- ( Rs 750/- for Sc and ST). Drawn on a nationalized bank and payable at Varanasi in favor of DIRECTOR, IMS,BHU.

4.4 Incomplete applications in any respect will be summarily rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Applications received after the last date will not be entertained on any ground including postal delay.

4.5 All passport size photographs must be identical, snapped with front profile, showing full head, face, shoulder and with both ears and taken without wearing any Cap/Hat/Sunglasses. Polaroid photos are not accepted. Photograph must be taken on or after 20th January 2008 with a placard indicating the date and name of the candidate. The photograph in B on Page 3 should be attested by a Gazetted officer and photographs in A and C (on page 1 and 4) are to be self signed. Signature of the attesting officer / candidate should begin on application form and then extend over the photograph. The thumb impression on page 4 of the application also to be attested by Head of the Institution / Gazetted Officer.

4.6 Candidates who are in service (Government/Semi Government/Statutory body) must apply through proper channel with endorsement certificate of the employer on the proforma provided in the application form.

4.7 Provisional admit card shall be sent by the Registered post to the candidates. If an eligible candidate does not receive the admit card, he/she may contact the Office of the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, B.H.U., Varanasi on Monday, 16th June 2008 between 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM along with 2 copies of passport size photographs identical to those pasted in Original application form. No duplicate admit card will be issued on

the day of examination i.e., Tuesday, 17th June-2008.

4.8 In respect of candidates belonging to Schedule Caste/or Schedule Tribes Category, a certified true copy/photocopy of a certificate from any one of the following authorities stating that the candidate belongs to a Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribes category, should be submitted.

4.9 Foreign Nationals should submit their application with all necessary documents including recent duly attested passport size photograph, citizenship certificate, students Visa for the full duration of the course routed through the respective Embassy/Indian Council for Cultural Relation/Ministry of External Affairs (in case of self financing candidates), Govt. of India, New Delhi to reach office of the Director, IMS, BHU latest by 16th July, 2008. They should fulfill the requirements and all requisitions including AIDS free medical certificate formulated by the Govt. of India from time to time at the time of application.

4.10 Foreign Nationals are exempted from entrance test. 5% supernumerary seats are reserved for foreign nationals subject to maximum of two.

4.11 One seat in each PG Discipline will be available under the supernumerary category.

4.12 Candidates working in government, Quasi government or Ayurvedic Colleges recognized by the CCIM will be considered under sponsored category.

4.13 Sponsored, foreign nationals and the candidates with MBBS degree will be treated under supernumerary category.

4.14 Physically disabled(PD): Reservation for orthopedically disabled candidates would be as per government of India (MCI) regulations.

5. EVALUATION

5.1 Examination will be conducted only in the campus of BHU, Varanasi.

5.2 There shall be one paper consisting 180 multiple choice questions from all the specialties including modern ounterpart of Ayurvedic specialties. The duration of test will be 2½ hrs.

5.3 For MBBS graduate there will be a separate paper.

5.4 Three (3) marks will be awarded for every correct answer and one (1) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

5.5 The qualifying marks are 50 percentage of aggregate (40% in case SC/ST candidates).

5.6 No Scrutiny/Revaluation of the answer book of the entrance test shall be allowed on any ground

6. RESULT & SELECTION:

6.1 The candidates will be selected for admission based on merit in the written entrance test.

6.2 Separate merit list will be prepared amongst all the categories i.e., (i) General, (ii) SC (iii) ST (iv) PD (v) Sponsored and M.B.B.S
6.3 In case of equal marks at the test the inter-se-ranking of the candidates shall be determined in the following order

(a) Percentage of aggregate of marks obtained by the candidates in BAMS/MBBS (Final) examination.

(b) Total aggregate marks obtained in all the professional examinations (1st to Final year/prof.).

(c) Number of failures during the course of undergraduate study (BAMS/MBBS).

(d) Percentage of Marks obtained in I.Sc. or equivalent examination.

(e) If the marks at the above also happen to be the same, the date of birth would be the basis i.e. the candidate senior in the age would rank higher.
6.4 Roll number of ONLY selected candidates will be published and displayed on the web site (www.bhu.ac.in) and they will also be informed individually by Registered post by the Institute. However, the Institute shall not be responsible for any postal delay or loss of the correspondence in postal transit.
6.5 Selected candidates will have to appear before the admission committee for counseling. The subject will be decided at the time of counseling according to merit index of entrance test only, subject to the availability of seats.

7. IMPORTANT NOTES:

7.1 Selected candidates will have to execute a bond on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.100/- (to be purchased from Varanasi or any district of State of Uttar Pradesh only) at the time of joining the course.

7.2 Private practice of any kind shall not be permissible during the entire duration of the course.7.3 The admission and continuance of Registration/Residency of the candidate shall be subject to the BHU Act, Statutes, Ordinance, Rules and Regulations and orders as may be applicable from time to time and the aforesaid bond. The registration /admission may be cancelled without any notice if the supervisor is not satisfied with the work and /or conduct of the candidate.7.4 If it is detected that there is something against the candidate which would have prevented him/her from being admitted to the institute for providing false information or fake documents, act of gross misconduct and indiscipline, his/her candidature for admission to the Ayurveda Vachaspati [MD (Ay)]/Ayurveda Dhanwantari [MS (Ay)] course shall not be considered and his/her provisional admission shall be liable to be cancelled.
7.5 Any candidate who is pursuing Ayurveda Vachaspati [MD (Ay)]/Ayurveda Dhanwantari [MS (Ay)] degree from any Institution will not be eligible to appear in the Entrance Test.

7.6 The candidates who have already obtained Ayurveda Vachaspati [MD (Ay)]/Ayurveda Dhanwantari [MS (Ay)] degree from any institution will not be eligible to appear in the Entrance Test.
7.7 The decision of the admission committee of Faculty of Ayurveda, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, shall be final and binding on the candidate in respect of the admission test and admission to the postgraduate courses.
7.8 Fee paid for Entrance Test is not refundable / transferable or reserved for future.
7.9 Candidates admitted to Ayurveda Vachaspati [MD (Ay)]/Ayurveda Dhanwantari [MS (Ay)] course except supernumerary will be paid salary as per existing rules of the University.
7.10 In case of any dispute the decision of the admission committee shall be final. However, an appeal may lie to the Vice- Chancellor, Banaras Hindu University, against such decision. In no case any candidate shall take recourse to the court of law directly.

7.11 In case of any dispute Varanasi shall be the jurisdiction or High Court of Allahabad.

7.12 Candidates will have to bring admit card (original), all original certificates, Marks sheets and Internship completion certificate, caste certificate (for SC/ST Candidate) at the time of the counseling and have to submit documentary proof at the time of Admission that their degrees are recognised by CCIM / MCI.

7.13 The provisional eligibility of the candidates to appear at the test is ordinarily decided on the basis of entries made in t he application form and their signed declaration. The candidates shall be debarred from appearing at the test if candidate is found ineligible or have submitted wrong information. If the information submitted is found wrong at the time of counseling or even later, such candidates shall have no claim for admission to the courses and if admitted the admission shall be cancelled.
7.14 It is for the candidate to see that he/she is fulfilling all the requirements to appear at the test. Ineligible candidates will have no claim to appear in the test. If he/she is found ineligible, he/she will have no claim on any ground what so over to appear in the test, even if provisional admit card had been issued.

7.15 Mere submission of application, appearing at the test and qualifying in the test will not entitle the candidate to claim admission in the Ayurveda Vachaspati [MD (Ay)]/Ayurveda Dhanwantari [MS (Ay)] course.

7.16 The candidates taking up the admission test will have to make their own arrangements for stay at Varanasi.

7.17 No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the test, appearing in counseling or for joining the course.

The Indian Institute of Advanced Study is an Autonomous Body established by the Government of India in 1965, under the Societies Registration Act. It is administered and managed by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study Society through its Governing Body. The Institute is residential in character, and since its inception, is engaged in higher research, primarily in the humanities and social sciences. It also aims to promote creative thought in areas such as literature, philosophy and religion. Problems relating to the understanding of Indian culture and civilisation are part of its broad research interests.

 

Indian Institute of Advanced Study invite applications for award of Fellowships for advanced research in the following disciplines:

a) Social, Political and Economic Philosophy; b) Comparative Indian Literature (including Ancient, Medieval, Modern Folk and Tribal); c) Comparative Studies in Philosophy and Religion; d) Education, Culture, Arts including performing Arts and Crafts; e) Fundamental Concepts and Problems of Logic and Mathematics; f) Fundamental Concepts and Problems of Natural Life Sciences; g) Studies in Environment; and h) National Integration and Nation-building.

2. Since the Institute encourages advanced studies, proposals involving empirical work with data collection and fieldwork would not be considered.

3. Applications from scholars working in and on Northeastern region are encouraged.

4. Scholars belonging to the weaker section of the society would be given preference.

5. The prescribed application form and details of the Fellowship grants payable to the Fellows are available on the website of the Institute www.iias.org and can also be obtained from the Institute by sending a self-addressed envelop (5” x 11”) with postage stamp of Rs. 10/- affixed. The application on the prescribed form may be sent to the Secretary, Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla.

6. The term of Fellowship would initially be for a period of one year, extendable further, but in no case shall it extend beyond three years.

7. Fellows would be expected to remain in residence for nine months at least. Their stay at the Institute during the remaining months would be optional. They may proceed on study tours during this period.

8. We provide fully furnished rent-free accommodation to Fellows in cottages on the Rastrapati Nivas Estate. Besides, scholars shall have access to a personal fully furnished study (which may be on sharing basis) with a computer and Internet facilities. The Fellows shall not be entitled for any House Rent Allowance (HRA).

9. The Fellows will be provided with free stationary.

10. On health front, Fellows would also be entitled for free medical treatment in the dispensary of the Institute. They would have access to vehicles for local travel on payment of nominal charges.

11. On completion of their research, the Institute shall publish their monographs.

12. It is mandatory for in-service candidates to apply through proper channel.

Admission Procedure

Application for Admission
Request for Application Form and Information Bulletin may be sent on plain paper to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad along with a crossed demand draft of Rs.500/- drawn in favour of Registrar, Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad payable at State Bank of India, ISM Campus Branch, Dhanbad (Code No. 1641) and a self addressed unstamped envelope of size 23 cms X 15 cms superscribing ‘Request for PG Application Form’ on or before March 21, 2008. The Application Form and Information Bulletin can also be obtained from the Academic Section on payment of Rs.500/- at the cash counter of the University up to 28 March, 2008. A candidate may apply for a maximum upto three programmes only. If candidate applies for more than three programmes, in a single application form, his/her application will summarily be rejected.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess Bachelors degree in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology from AICTE approved institution with at least 55% marks in aggregate.

Similarly, candidates opting for admission in M.Phil programme should possess 55% marks in the respective qualifying examinations form an approved college/university. The requirement of minimum percentage of marks may be waived off for the teacher who have joined the teaching profession on or before February 28, 1991.

The eligibility criteria for different programmes are presented in 2.1 of this bulletin. The candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination may also apply for admission. However, they will be required to submit their final result of the qualifying examination latest by August 31, 2008 failing which their admission will be cancelled.

The candidates whose final results are not declared, the weightage will be considered upto 7th semester or pre final stage. Candidates must have completed all their examinations before admission to the PG programme, except declaration of the results..

Submission of Application Form

The duly filled in Application Form should be accompanied with the following documents.
a) A recent passport size photograph pasted on each application form.
b) The copies of the certificates and marksheets (including GATE/NET score) starting matriculation/school final examination attested by a Gazetted Officer or the principal of the institution last attended. The original certificates are required to be produced at the time of admission.
c) Original Migration Certificate is required at the time of admission.
d) An unstamped self addressed envelope of size 23 cms X 15 cms.
e) Self addressed sticker 4 pieces

Applications received without the above documents will be rejected. Application fee once paid will not be refundable under any circumstances.

Programme Fee for the first semester has to be paid at the time of admission. Caution money and security deposits are refundable only after completion of the programme. Fees for subsequent semesters are to be paid before the commencement of the respective semesters.

The duly filled-in application form must reach the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad – 826004 latest by April 04, 2008.

Admission

Admission to a programme shall be made on the basis of (a) GATE/NET Score, (b) performance in the qualifying degree, and (c) performance of the candidate in the interview to be conducted at the University. However written test will be conducted for all candidates seeking admission to M. Tech. programme in Computer Application on June 09, 2008. If sufficient GATE/NET candidates are not available, Non GATE/NET candidates may be considered for admission to M. Tech./M. Phil. Programmes. Non GATE/NET candidates and sponsored candidates called for interview will have to appear a written test on June 09, 2008. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the written test/interviews. The interviews will be held on June 10-11, 2008.
